Frequently
Asked Questions
1. Is this just for people who don't know anything about reading labels? Dying To Look Good "Best Brands" is for anyone who doesn't want to read ingredients lists, or doesn't feel confident that they can tell if the product has harmful ingredients. It doesn't matter whether you know anything about the safety of ingredients in cosmetics and personal care products or not. 2. Can't I just choose products off the shelf in my health food store? Not all products on the shelves of health food stores contain all healthy ingredients. In fact most do NOT. If you know how to read ingredients lists and feel confident that you can determine if the product has only safe and healthy ingredients, and you take the time to do it, then you probably don't need this program. 3. Why aren't all the products in health food stores safe and healthy? That's a good question. One health food store owner, when asked why she didn't carry the best brands with the safest ingredients said that "they would make her other products look bad." In fact, one of the companies listed in the Dying To Look Good "Best Brands" program told me that she was having difficulty getting her products into health food stores because they were so pure and contained only the safest and healthiest ingredients. 4. Will I be able to find products from the lists in my health food store? It depends on your health food store. I made sure to include the best brands with the safest and healthiest ingredients, that I could find in my health food store, which have a wide national distribution. However there is no guarantee that every health food store will carry these brands. 5. How will I find the products if they're not in my health food store? All the products listed in the Dying To LookGood "Best Brands" program can be purchased online. Some may be available in specialty stores. Each listing tells if the product is available online, off line or both, and gives website and store location information. 6. Are there discounts for products purchased both in retail stores and online? Most of the discounts are for online purchases. There is one company that is giving a discount coupon for retail store purchases. You will have to send a self addressed stamped envelope to get the coupon. You will get $2 in coupons when you send your self addressed stamped envelope. 7. How much money will I save with the product discounts? That will depend on how much you buy and how many discount offers you choose to take advantage of. Some of the discounts are for 10% or more off your order total. Some offer free shipping with a certain dollar amount purchase. Others offer a free gift with a minimum order. Not every company is offering discounts, but every weekly list will have some discount offers. 8. Does my membership include getting my product questions answered by e-mail? Unfortunately, the answer is "no". While I will always be available to handle support requests (i.e. I can't download this week's list) I simply don't have the time to personally answer questions for 1,000 members. Even if every member just asked ONE question (even a simple question) it would be impossible to handle all the requests. 9. Are there any hidden costs?Your only cost, other than the $10 per month membership fee for 3 months, would be postage for any coupons you request by mail (see #6 above). Of course you are responsible for paying for any products you choose to purchase. 10. Do I have to commit to the entire 3 months? Of course not. While I don't think you'll want to, you may cancel at any time. You may e-mail me through the Contact Us link at the top of the page for a prompt and courteous termination. Like I said, I don't think you'll want to cancel after receiving your product lists and discount offers! 11. What day of the week will I recieve my weekly product lists? There isn't a specific "day" of the week when you'll receive your weekly product information in your e-mail inbox. The program is setup to send out your list approximately every 7 days (sometimes there may be a 24-48 hour difference in delivery, but you'll always receive a product list every week). If you have any other questions that might be benefical to visitors of the site (or yourself, of course!) please e-mail me through the Contact Us button at the top of the page.
